Q13a
Pursuant to Article 82 of the Dutch Mining Act (Mijnbouwwet), Energie Beheer Nederland (EBN) participates in these activities on behalf of the Dutch State in the interest of “efficient exploration and production, orderly resource management, and optimal marketing of hydrocarbons.”
For this purpose, a (standard) cooperation agreement has been concluded between EBN and the licence holder. The licence holder is the holder of an exploration or production licence for hydrocarbons (natural gas, oil and/or condensate). The licence has been granted by the Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, who has also approved the cooperation agreement.
A complete overview of our hydrocarbon activities and more information about the Standard Cooperation Agreement can be found on our Hydrocarbon Partnerships page. On our natural gas pages, you can find more general information about natural gas production in the Netherlands and the role of EBN.
