Well correlation and reservoir quality of the Zechstein fringe sandstones in the Southern Dutch offshore

The Zechstein Group in the Netherlands is mostly known for its carbonates and evaporites. However, in the P- and Q-blocks in the Southern Dutch North Sea, the interval contains a substantial amount of sandstone. The current report aims to improve the understanding of the occurrence of these “Zechstein Fringe” sandstones, by detailed well correlation in the Netherlands and also towards the Hewett field in the UK, where this sandstone is exceptionally well developed.
