Retrospect:
Dutch Exploration Day
The 10th edition of Dutch Exploration Day (DXD) took place this November. This day brought together inspiring speakers, interactive sessions and countless opportunities to connect with experts and peers across the energy sector.
From policy insights to technical deep-dives, DXD25 offered a diverse programme designed to spark ideas and accelerate collaboration. The morning sessions explored how policy supports the unlocking of the North Sea’s subsurface potential to strengthen energy security and meet climate goals. In the afternoon, the focus shifted to technology, with presentations on topics such as data infrastructure for the deep subsurface and evolving needs for subsurface models in the energy transition.
This year the development of the sector agreement published in April by the Ministry of Climate and Green Growth, Element NL and Energie Beheer Nederland (EBN) was highlighted. A keynote and panel discussion unpacked this agreement, followed by a comparative look at approaches in neighbouring countries.
The day concluded with sessions showcasing the broad expertise of stakeholders in geoscience, energy storage and sustainable energy innovation. True to its mission, DXD25 closed with a call to enhance knowledge and collaborate for a cleaner, more secure energy future.
