Traineeships & Young Professionals

If you are at the start of your career, speak Dutch and want to make an impact in the energy transition, EBN offers you the opportunity to learn and contribute to meaningful projects. You join us, and we help you further develop your talents, whether you are an intern, trainee or young professional.

Internships

Are you looking for a university-level internship where you can contribute to the energy transition? EBN regularly offers internship opportunities. We offer internships for both Bachelor’s and Master’s students, ranging from 15 to 45 ECTS credits.

We recruit interns twice a year: in June for a September start date and in December for an April start date. If you are invited for an interview, we will work with you to identify a specific topic that matches your field of study. Examples include projects in areas such as geothermal energy, exploration or CO2 transport and storage.

During your internship, you will be supported by an EBN supervisor who will provide guidance and feedback. As an intern, you will also receive an internship allowance and an NS Business Card if you do not have a student travel product. In addition, you are welcome to join all EBN activities. Visit our vacancies page (in Dutch) for all current internship opportunities.

Traineeships

Already graduated? EBN also regularly recruits trainees from a wide range of backgrounds, from communications to geosciences, and from finance to reservoir engineering. EBN traineeships last three years, and after one and a half years you will move to a different project or department.

During your traineeship, you will be part of a group of fellow trainees and take part together in our Young Professional Programme: a development programme with various courses, including Personal Leadership and Effective Time Management. You will also receive guidance and feedback, both on professional content and on broader professional skills.

Trainee recruitment does not take place at fixed times during the year. Interested? Keep an eye on our vacancies page or sign up for a job alert.

Young EBN

In January 2025, Young EBN was established to create a genuine community for young professionals. Through both informal and professional activities, Young EBN fosters connections within EBN and beyond.

Within EBN, Young EBN promotes horizontal dialogue. In this way, all employees, both young and experienced, are encouraged to make their unique contribution to the energy transition.
