Regionaal Warmtebedrijf Groningen

This project is being developed by the National Heat Investor (Nationale Deelneming Warmte – NDW), currently operating under Energie Beheer Nederland (EBN), in collaboration with various public sector partners.

Together with the Province of Groningen, the Municipality of Groningen and Enexis (Enpuls), an assessment is being carried out to explore how district heating networks across the province can be jointly developed, realised and operated.

During this initial exploration phase, the partners are examining, among other things, the needs of municipalities, potential projects, governance and organisational models, financial requirements, and opportunities for regional cooperation. The possible role of the already publicly owned heat company WarmteStad within a broader regional context is also being considered. At the end of this first exploration phase, the partners will jointly decide on the next steps.
