Thermal fracturing

This masters thesis by Bouke Scheffer investigates thermal fracturing during CO2 injection in depleted gas fields. An analytical approach of the moment of thermal fracturing and the influence on the injectivity is compared with results from simulation models. A sensitivity analysis was performed to determine the main geomechanical, operational and reservoir parameters that influence thermal fracturing.
