'Gasgebouw' partnership
EBN is one of the four partners in the public-private partnership commonly referred to as the ‘Gasgebouw’ partnership. This partnership dates back to 1963 and is responsible for the production of natural gas from the huge Groningen field, for enabling smaller fields in the Netherlands to be produced and also for selling most of the gas produced in the Netherlands.
EBN has a 40% stake in Maatschap Groningen, the first pillar of the Gasgebouw responsible for producing the Groningen field.
EBN also has a 40% interest in GasTerra, the company responsible for selling most of the gas from Groningen and the small fields. GasTerra is the second pillar of the Gasgebouw.
