Mission, vision and ambitions
"EBN develops energy resources and oversees the exploitation of the deep subsurface in a manner that is profitable for Dutch society."
We do this by participating in the exploration and production (E&P) of oil and gas and in related activities such as transportation and storage. We also advise the government on its energy policy, particularly in respect of the exploitation of the deep subsurface and the supply of gas to Dutch society.
More specifically, it is our ambition:
- to ensure optimal development of oil and gas fields in the Netherlands;
- to provide ‘the best access to Dutch gas’ to companies intending to start E&P activities in the Netherlands;
- to make a significant contribution to the prosperity of Dutch society by optimising the State’s revenues from oil and gas production and exploitation of the deep subsurface;
- to make our activities contribute, wherever practicable, to a more sustainable energy supply.
